Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Pitstead (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License to Use the App

Beacon Light Investments grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Pitstead on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to the App Store's or Google Play's applicable usage rules.

3. Your Content

Everything you enter into Pitstead — cook logs, temperature readings, photos, recipes, ratings, and notes — is yours. It's stored locally on your device and, if you choose to enable iCloud Sync (iOS only), copied to your own private iCloud account. We do not access, host, or claim any ownership over your content. 4. Purchases

Pitstead offers a free tier and a single, one-time "Pitstead Pro" purchase that removes usage caps and unlocks PDF export. This is not a subscription and does not auto-renew or recur. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are governed entirely by the App Store's or Google Play's own refund policies — Beacon Light Investments does not process payments or refunds directly.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except as permitted by law, and not to use the App for any unlawful purpose.

6. Food Safety Disclaimer

Pitstead is a cooking log, not a food-safety authority. It records what you enter and measure in your own words and numbers. It does not dictate safe minimum internal temperatures, does not guarantee that a repeated cook will turn out the same way, and is not a substitute for USDA or local food-safety guidance. You are solely responsible for following applicable food-safety practices.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beacon Light Investments shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including any loss of data stored on your device.

9. Changes to the App or These Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. If these Terms change materially, the "Effective date" above will be updated. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Data already stored locally on your device or in your own iCloud remains yours; use "Delete All My Data" in Settings to remove it.
