Privacy Policy

Summary
Pitstead does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data. Everything you enter — cooks, temperature readings, photos, recipes, ratings, and notes — stays on your device unless you choose to export, share, or (on iOS only) sync it to your own private iCloud account.
What Pitstead Stores, and Where

iCloud Sync (iOS only, off by default)
If you turn on iCloud Sync in Settings, your Pitstead data is copied to your own private iCloud account — the same iCloud storage Apple already gives you for Photos, Notes, and other apps. This sync:
- Goes only to your own iCloud, never to any server operated by the developer of Pitstead.
- Is entirely optional and off by default.
- Can be turned off at any time; turning it off stops future syncing without deleting what's already in your iCloud (use "Delete All My Data" to remove that too).
Android has no equivalent sync feature — Android data stays on-device only.
What Pitstead Does Not Do
- No account or sign-in is required or offered.
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising SDKs, and no ads are shown.
- No device identifiers or advertising identifiers are collected.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties, because no data is collected from you in the first place.
- No cloud backend operated by the developer exists to store, process, or have access to your data.
Permissions Pitstead Requests, and Why

None of these permissions are used to collect data about you — they exist solely to provide the feature you enabled.
Deleting Your Data
Settings → "Delete All My Data" immediately and permanently deletes every cook, temperature reading, photo, custom recipe, and exported document on your device, along with your iCloud copy if sync is or was ever enabled. This does not affect a previously purchased Pitstead Pro unlock, which is tracked by Apple/Google, not by Pitstead — "Restore Purchases" re-applies it if needed.
Children's Privacy
Pitstead is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information from its users at all.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the "Effective date" above will be updated and the new version published at this same URL.
