🔥 Pitstead

Low-and-slow barbecue rewards repetition. The cook that turned out great last month is worth doing exactly the same way again — and the one that came out dry is worth remembering not to repeat. Most of us end up trying to hold that memory in a phone note, a group text, or just our own recollection, and it doesn't hold up over a season of cooks.

Pitstead exists to be the record that does: the cut, the rub, the wood, and the full temperature curve for every cook, so your best results turn into a plan instead of a guess.

What we believe

Everything runs on your device

No account required. The only sync is optional and goes to your own private iCloud, never a server we run.

Works with no signal

Every screen, including PDF export and sharing, works offline. Sync is a convenience, never a requirement.

Your data belongs to you

No analytics, no telemetry, no ad SDKs. One tap deletes everything, permanently, whenever you want.

One codebase, both stores

iOS and Android from a single build, so the app looks and feels native and correct at every size, light and dark.

A pit book, not an authority

Pitstead never dictates safe internal temperatures or guarantees a repeated cook turns out the same way. It logs what you did, in your own numbers — it doesn't replace USDA or local food-safety guidance.

Who it's for

Home barbecue enthusiasts doing regular low-and-slow cooks — brisket, pork shoulder, ribs — who want a record better than a phone-notes app or a spreadsheet, and want their best cooks to be easy to repeat instead of half-remembered.
